  COVID Meme of The French Dispatch Cast

  A photo of The French Dispatch cast at the Cannes Film Festival generated a lot of memes. Declan Cashin (@Tweet_Dec) made one about the different COVID-19 vaccines available for each of the cast members. This meme is relevant because it was a popular image in 2021 that combined the reality of the pandemic, when several vaccines were available.

  Self-description: “Audio visual artist that lives in Seattle, Washington, specifically in the realm of music and film, and also the intersection of the two. A lot of my work involves amplifying experiences and voices that are often underrepresented, primarily in the Black and LBGTQ+ community. And that’s something that overtime my work has been diving deeper and deeper into over the years, which is something that I think as an artist, I’ve only really come to terms with in the last few years. But it’s been definitely both empowering for me and illuminating to see it reflected back in the ways that people have responded to the work.” Other biographical details: late 20s, from Los Angeles.   FILM SETS IN 2020

  Working on NBCs Chicago MED full time during a pandemic was not hard, but we were lucky to be able to incorporate Covid 19 into our story lines in order to keep masks on and people safer. Here is a photo of our background nurses posing with their masks on before heading in to set!

  What if the worms dated?

  Me and my friend Sebastian have been watching films over Discord video share to ease our tension surrounding the pandemic. We have watched classics such as Tremors and Return of the Living Dead as well as obscure, terrible movies like Uninvited and Love on a Leash. One day while I was talking about the atrocity that is the author of Ready Player One after watching Tremors, I mentioned how it'd be funny if the worm from Dune was gay and kissed the worm from Betelgeuse and the only way to do it would be in the sequel of Ready Player One, Ready Player Two. So my friend, naturally, had to draw gay worms.

  Jewish Melbourne: ABC Religion and Ethics - Tyla's Story

  ABC's Religion and Ethics program created a video series 'Lockdown Stories', inviting people to submit their videos and stories. On 30 September they shared on Facebook 'Tyla's Story': a film made by Tyla about being locked down at home with her family, conducting Pesach via zoom, having family shabbat dinners on zoom and then reuniting with her siblings for shabbat once the lockdown lifted.

  California Coastline

  March 13th was the day we were sent home from the office. Working remotely was not something I had experienced before. For the first month, I started re arranging my days. Instead of commuting for 4 hours a day I was working out in the mornings and reading more in the evenings. One day I dusted off my old film camera that I hadn't used in over 10 years. I purchased film and I started to take one photo a day. I would try to capture a photo that summed up that particular day. After two months of being on locked down I decided to drive from Orange County, CA to Big Sur. My cousin lives on 8 acres on the back side of Big Sur. I camped out on his property for a month, I ate off the land, cooked outside everyday and didn't get back into my car until the day of my departure. After a month, I decided to leave mid afternoon so I could catch the sunset on my six hour drive back home. I pulled off thirty miles past Post Ranch Inn and waited about eight minutes to click this shot in. The colors in the water, the length of the cliff and the dirt between my Red Wings and the ground made this the best photograph of the last six months. This pandemic has allowed me to slow down. To admire the little things in life and re introduce old hobbies into my life. My camera and I are one again, she comes every where with me. I will blow this photograph up one day, frame it and remind me of the times. It was fitting that I'd started reading On the Road: the Original Scroll by Jack Kerouac before my month long trip. I finished it in Big Sur. There are many great quotes by Jack in that book. However one reigns supreme..."Live, travel, adventure, bless, and don't be sorry."
