Airlines Conduct Tests to Prove that COVID-19 Spread is not High in Airplanes
United Airlines, Boeing and the Defense Department conducted tests to gauge the risk of getting infected with the coronavirus on a plane. They used a mannequin that would use a spray to stimulate a cough. They concluded that the spread of infection is not high. However, the test failed to test many other factors, such as the patient turning their head to the side to cough, coughing while walking around the cabin, and other common locomotions of airplane passengers. Thus, the test was inconclusive, and seems like a desperate effort for the airline companies to get their customers back. -

Cancelled Flights
This was a photo I took of the flight departures board at Heathrow Airport on the 18th March, as I waited for my flight home to Melbourne, Australia. It shows a crazy number of flights being cancelled, most of them, from what I could gather, with very little notice to the passengers. This photo sums up just how chaotic and stressful it was trying to get home during COVID border closures. Things were changing so rapidly that your flight could quite literally get cancelled at the last minute, and I remember worrying that my flight would as well. -

The Road Home & the dust on my feet
I returned to the Philippines from London in June, and I wanted to make sure that my experience was catalogued among others like it. I'm planning to add more entries, but this is the first. I wrote it out very like a report, and the succeeding entries will likely expound a little bit more about the experience, firsthand, of bureaucracy on the ground, and the people it most affects; how slowly the government response arrives, and who bears the brunt of this inefficiency.
