In the ward, patient Sun Yingcun always pays attention to personal hygiene. Every day, he tries to collect the domestic garbage for the convenience of cleaning by the cleaner. Every time the cleaner comes to clean up, he will say "thank you" every time. He also asked the cleaner how many patients would say "thank you" and pick up the living garbage for cleaning? An uncle from Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, said: almost half of it.

In these months of the virus's rapid expansion, China has taken measures to seal off its cities. In Wuhan, no one is free to enter or leave the city. Residents in Wuhan are also unable to leave their homes. All supplies, as well as food, are delivered by a single person. People were asked to self-segregate as well as social distance.
The whole city was like an empty city, no vehicles, no lights, no people. The formerly bustling city becomes a 'dead city' with no breath. At that time, what awaited people was the rising number of confirmed diagnoses and deaths and the sporadic hope they saw as soon as they opened their eyes each day.

This post blames Democrats for not allowing gatherings, such as church, during this pandemic, but supporting the Black Lives Matters protests. It also demonstrates the growing connection between those who are opposed to both the COVID-19 shutdowns and the Black Lives Matters protests. Posted to http://reddit.com/r/insanepeoplefacebook.

With the help of a special-made cake pan and recipe from a recent, pre-lockdown day-trip to Lindsborg, Kansas, this almond cake helped alleviate the stress and boredom of being stuck in-doors during the state's lockdown order.

When their in-person service-learning experience was short-lived due to the coronavirus, Suffolk University students continued their community-based efforts remotely by creating care packages that included food, books, and mental health information. The goal of the new Head, Health, and Heart initiative was to provide underserved children and teens with the most fundamental needs in order to survive, and 200 of the neediest families from four Boston public schools benefited.

While many small businesses shed jobs in the face of lockdowns, special needs communities saw an urgent need for more help to keep their residents safe from contracting the virus. One recruiting inducement was the promise of a hiring bonus, such as the one depicted in this photograph.

In the midst of the pandemic, much deeper issues have risen. I believe it is about time we faced the issue of racial injustice. It is important for me to take the time, quarantine has provided, to learn of its history and to listen to those who have been hurt. "I understand that I will never understand" reads one of the protester's posters, to be educated is a step in the right direction.

This book of poetry was for an English assignment for my 11th grade class after we transitioned to remote learning. I thought it was a very powerful time to share my opinion in an ever-increasingly digital world and my voice may be heard in future years for strangers to hear. I share political shames in this book, my everyday experiences during the stay-at-home order, and the experiences of those around me.

News story about a nurse's struggle to find daycare for her young son. Her son's previous daycare closed, perhaps permanently, he is far down the waiting list for emergency daycare for the children of frontline workers, and then a spot she did find him fell through when the parents of other children in the daycare, two of whom had weak immune systems and asked the carer not to take the child on as they feared he would carry covid19 to daycare from his mother's work at a hospital. She has not been able to work due to the unavailability of care, during a time when nurses are in high demand.
However, the article also mentions that after a story on the situation was aired on the nightly television news, the nurse received numerous calls offering to watch the child for her.

I live in Wuhan and this is the community I lived in. We have two gates and one is blocked because of coronavirus. Even now after almost two months of Wuhan's reopen, it is still blocked. This is because the community wants to make it easier for them to check every cars and passengers, when they want to enter or leave the community, they need to scan a QR code (green code is a code show that you are safe and not infected with coronavirus, easier for government to know where you went and if suspected positive tests out on your routine, you will be notified quickly) to choose enter/leave and test your body temperature.

With spread of COVID-19, many schools are now closed and those who originally lived on campus have no place to live. The students have to their home countries. However, many countries are reducing air travel today to prevent coronavirus and reduce cross-infection on airplanes. It's very difficult for these students to get back, not only do they have to accept expensive plane tickets but they also have to continue learning under the pressure of COVID-19. Therefore COVID-19 cause many damages to students.

I had never felt how long a journey to home can be, until this time. I took an 15-hour flight from western US to eastern China. I could not eat, drink, or use the lavatory during the whole time of flight to prevent myself from infecting COVID-19. Besides, I had to wear masks and gloves all the time. Those made me feel the time was going much slower than any other time. The only thing I could do was reading on my phone. I read the one of the best scientific fictions in the world, The Three-body Problem. The author says that "The human being had never been defeated because of weakness and ignorance, but arrogance." It is the same thing when we confronting the COVID-19, an unknown crisis in human history. The point is we cannot be arrogance this time. We have to be serious and do hour best to prevent it from spreading.

Americans were enchanted with videos of Italians singing together from their balconies. It showed such great spirit and making the most of a most difficult situation.
This particular video shows a wife who is exhibiting no musical talent at all, and the husband can't take it any more.

During the pandemic, not only were we faced with empty grocery store shelves, but there were lines around the block to get into a store. This was difficult at best, and scary to many of us, making us wonder if this was a sign of the collapse of our way of life.
Soon, most stores offered "senior hours" which allowed the older citizens to shop early without waiting in the lines and with less people in the store, thus reducing the risk of contagion. This is a flyer the town of Glendale, California put out to inform those who needed to shop early.

Throughout the pandemic, those who were quarantined at home for their own safety were served by workers in many fields. They were putting themselves in harm's way every day to make sure there was food in the grocery stores, to keep the mass transit running, to cook for us, to care for our health, to keep up our yards, to keep the banks open, to deliver to us, to advance science and work for vaccines and cures. The police and firefighters were also working around the clock for us.
At first, until studies were done about the need for masks and gloves, none of these workers were protected at all. Health car workers had to work without adequate protective equipment. Many grocery workers and police were infected with COVID-19, and many died because they were doing their duty. Heroes.

Demonstrations against police violence have been taking place in Phoenix, AZ, as in many U.S. cities, following the May 25 killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. On the same day, Dion Johnson, also an African-American man, was fatally shot by police in North Phoenix. I took these photos at a peaceful march in support of Black lives on May 31. In keeping with public health guidance, almost all demonstrators wore protective masks to guard against spreading Covid19. But as one hand-lettered sign put it, "the virus is racism."

When Covid-19 exploded all over the world, international students became desolate and frustrated. They could not go back to their motherland because of Covid-19. They had to stay to resist the virus and protect themselves. The Chinese embassy in the United States provided some face-masks, wipes, and some medicines to Chinese students in the US. The photo recorded how CSSA staff distributed these supplies to each student. They wearing protective clothing and goggles check everything was fine, which soothed the student's anxious mood under the situation of Covid-19.

One night, my friend and I were hungry. We decide to drive-thru some Mac Donalds. After getting the food, we would like to find a place to eat. We find a place where had some outdoor tables and chairs in a plaza. My friend said last time he saw some securities nearby, they would hold night patrols and make sure nobody would gather in the plaza. Indeed, when we almost finished eating, a security's auto stopped beside us, and security came down, wearing a face mask, kindly let us leave to go home. COVID-19 really affects humans regular lives.
