These images show us the unique battle each state is having against the virus. Rather it is people being forced to quarantine in New York City, police forces controlling the number of people going outside in New Jersey, medical professionals in Washington State trying to save people's lives from the virus, scientists testing a vaccine in Detriot, people gathering around their televisions to watch Dr. Amy Acton and Governor Mike DeWine at their press conferences in Ohio, or the government clearing beaches in Florida, one can see the that the virus is not unique to one state. It affects people, regardless of their profession, age, or location. So, one can see a united and individual effort to stop the virus and to protect people from it.

This is a picture of a popular outdoor community gathering space in front of Weaver St. Market, a local co-op grocery, in Carrboro, NC. On any other beautiful Saturday morning, the tables pictured here would be crowded with people -- visiting, eating, drinking, working. Children would be running around, people would be walking by on the way to the nearby farmers' market. This is one of the busiest central gathering spots in Carrboro -- a small village adjoining Chapel Hill, NC, the home of the University of North Carolina. To see it vacant on what was a gorgeous, warm, spring Saturday is a breathtaking reminder of what coronavirus and its associated stay-at-home orders are doing to our beloved town and our lives together.

My daughter is a HS freshman and has been at home since March 16. This was her very early on schedule for her day. School was just transitioning to remote learning and the days were more free-form. We have 8 pets of various sizes and varieties so the 'pet hour' is a very important way to stay relaxed. Photo taken April 7, 2020. Document created late March 2020 just when schools closed.
