Elderly populations are particularly at risk during this pandemic. Not only are they more susceptible to fatalities if they contract the virus, but they lack access to food and other services. Don Lee, along with Homecrest Community Services Inc., is working the frontlines to serve senior communities who need a helping-hand during this hard time.

Parents are always more concerned about COVID-19 than students, especially when their children are oversea.

On March 18, 2020 at approximately 8:45 I drove the Pennsylvania Turnpike eastbound out of Ohio coming home from Michigan on the day of the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania nonessential stay home orders due to COVID-19. I was returning from my grandson's christening in Michigan on the Canadian Border. I have never seen an empty turnpike on a weekday at 8:45a.m.

Peru expands lockdown from 6PM-5AM daily.

Although there is a pandemic going on the police must continue serving the community. Many would argue that the police are not giving enough resources or materials to continue to do so effectively.

This photograph was taken at a local Walmart in Williamsburg, Virginia. This Walmart ran out of toilet paper and the store was struggling to restock the toilet paper. This photo is an example of "panic buying." As the number of confirmed cases in Williamsburg increases more people are stocking up on supplies.

Shoppers at Tottus in Arequipa, Peru line up to enter the store to buy groceries. Before they can enter, an employee takes their temperature. Anyone who is running a warm temperature or has a fever cannot go inside.

In light of recent circumstances the Student Conservation Association has decided to cancel many of their upcoming events across the country for Earth Day/Month. These events would have done a lot for the environment and paved the way for more work in the field of sustainability, but it is necessary to protect people's health.

Columnist Maki Miró Quesda published an article on 3/29/2020 calling the family employee an "hdp" for passing the cuarentena with his/her family instead of returning to work in Quesada's home. The article was later deleted from the Peru21 website and an apology issued.

Since flight prices are very cheap during this time due to low demand, many people have taken advantage of this. However, if a person is heard coughing or sneezing theres immediate worry that they have "coronavirus."

My husband and I are in our 80’s and sequestered at home. We are very fortunate that we can enjoy every day as we have in the past. But then there is the ugly Corona virus world. I get angry because the people in charge did nothing to prepare us when it was detected in January. The health care workers and others helping people like me are on the front lines without protective gear or testing. I saw a doctor on TV who talked about a family who said goodbye to their loved one over FaceTime because of necessary isolation. Your heart goes out to the rest of the world as we are all in it together. Whatever happens in all the world, flowers will bloom and birds will sing, and the sun will still come up in the morning.
